Alamo Draft House: A movie theatre made famous by its one simple rule.
When someone thinks of Alamo Draft House, they may think of its karaoke rooms, full bar, patio, or proximity to city sites. But what made the cinema house famous first was its one simple rule: You must maintain proper movie-going etiquette. You get caught with a phone or being disruptive, you’re out; no exceptions. The 36,000-square-foot project sits on two acres with two acres of parking, and seats 700 among seven theaters. As the civil engineering firm on the project, Pacheco Koch had several special considerations on the project, including a detention pond on the back parking lot site and coordinating with Dallas Water Utilities for abandonment of a 36-inch brick wastewater main built in 1889.
