“I think there’s going to be a Nobel Prize winner who’s going to come from this building,” said Richardson Mayor Paul Voelker. Not light words to live up to for UT Dallas’ new Bioengineering and Sciences Building, but Pacheco Koch was up to the task as the civil engineers on the project. With full civil engineering design plans, including a hydrological and hydraulic model of Cottonwood Creek adjacent to the site and a building designed to LEED Silver standards, the BSB is intended to encourage interdisciplinary interaction between scientists and engineers from multiple fields. It all leads to a building that is altogether beautiful, functional, and efficient in its leadership in scientific research.
